Welcome to the forum!

Schindellegi, alas, is a bit of a soulless place, but it's very close to Einsiedeln, which has nice beer, and Pfaffikon SZ, which has trains to Zurich, Glarus and Chur (the Pfaffikon Badi isn't bad either).

I have one small request: If any of you know of any place for rent or maybe some useful website for housing in Schindellegi, it would be really awesome. I currently tried student.ch but it has not been too much of a help.

Why do you want to live there? A better idea would be to live somewhere like Wadenswil with direct trains to Schindellegi and (other direction) Zurich. Much wider choice of accommodation too.
