Hi there, I am going to be immigrating to Switzerland in the next two months and just noticed there are alot of posters from the German (Zurich) side of Switzerland. I am moving to the French (Geneva) side. Is there an area on this site for Geneva or are there any Geneva posters here?

No, everyone is welcome - people from the French side under-represented here, but after you arrive in the French part you can go and recruit some people for us

This is quite a welcome i have received, here i am moving to CH, yes to the French side, and already i feel like an outsider as i am moving to the French side.

Doon't feel too bad, there are those of us floating around, who don't really belong to the mainstream - I don't even actually live in Switzerland, but about 500 metres beyond the border into France!!

Welcome! Actually, you will feel quite a home I think. Think of the Swiss, but then imagine a relaxed version. This might sound like a contradiction in terms, but they come close.

In other words, the Swiss French are actually much closer to Europe, and it feels more European living in Romandie. I know because I live and work in both parts almost every day.

When the Swiss voted against joining the EU, a majority of Swiss French voted for it, maybe as much as 75%-80%. Caused the Rosti Graben to deepend even further...
