living in Fribourg, new to the forum

Hello everyone! I have been living in Fribourg for about a year now. I didn't realize about this forum until a friend of mine just recently introduced me to it. I just wanted to take this chance to reach out and see what it is all about.

Does anyone know a good place to look for signing up for different activities or classes? I want to meet people outside of work and maybe learn some new hobbies. I am looking to maybe joining clubs for tennis, hiking, jujitsu, or cycling. I'm also interested in maybe learning photography, or painting. Or if there are some social events where people from the forum get together for drinks.

If anyone has any advice, I would really appreciate it.

Welcome to the forum and a belated welcome to Fribourg. The wee woman is a member of the Fribourg Expats Women's Group http://www.fewgroup.org/.
They organise quite a few thing in and around Fribourg. Have a look and see what is out there.

PS Mountain biking or road biking?

Hi and welcome. If you go to your local Migros Supermarket you can pick up a brochure for Summer courses in Fribourg and Bulle, and also for those weekly courses starting in September. Welcome to Switzerland.

Thanks for the info about Migros!
For cycling, I have both a road and cyclocross bike.

You could take the train and go to Murten, cycling around the "Murtensee" is very nice!

I grew up in the region of Fribourg, please contact me if you have any questions.

Tennis clubs I'm familiar with (but not in the city):

- Marly (French speaking);
- Düdingen (German speaking).

[unofficially - I've encountered people more familiar with English at Düdingen]
