We're not in Kansas anymore....

Hello all!

I've recently relocated to Geneva for work, for at least 2-3 years, and am here with my dog, enjoying the experience. from the US, originally from Kansas, but yes, we're not in Kansas anymore Toto...

I'm quite active with outdoor activities, mtn and road cycling, hiking, skiing, rock climbing, so really looking forward to exploring the region, and making new friends in the area. This forum is a wonderful resource!

Cheers,
Lynn

Re: We're not in Kansas anymore....

Welcome to the forum!

Switzerland's a lot like Kansas in many ways: it's in the middle of the continent; it's populated by good, honest, decent folk; and it's very fla... oh never mind...

Welcome anyway!

Re: We're not in Kansas anymore....

Thanks for all the warm welcomes. I'm certainly finding it friendly here, but can't say it feels all that much like middle America.... still looking for the bluegrass jams.

My area of expertise is in agriculture. Not surprising coming from a Kansan, eh?

If you like to climb, the Salève (that small mountain in France) is a good place and actually one of the way has given its name to a french word used by climbers : la varappe

If you need to do indoor climbing, there's a very good inside wall in the Vitam'Park in Neydens. http://www.vitamparc.com/en/page/climbing-zone

Have fun

Re: We're not in Kansas anymore....

Good beta on the climbing. With this lovely rain lately I've been wondering about indoor walls. Might have to check it out this weekend. Thanks!

Hi,
Welcome to the Forum.

Please tell me your little dog is called Toto?....... that would be hilarious.

I also work in Agriculture here in Switzerland, so it's good to know there are more of us around.

No, not Toto, that would be tooo close to home for me... rather Mable, still a good midwestern name. Nice to meet fellow Agriculturists here!
