A little late - but hi

Hi, all. Have been living in the Fribourg area for nearly 13 years, but only just deciding to join the forum. Bad, I know, but only the 3rd forum I've joined in all my years. Hope to be able to contribute and help others as I'm sure you'll help me with any queries/problems.

Welcome to the Forum. I would love to live in Misery, I know the dark haired lady from Abba did, she left about 10 years ago.

Re: A little late - but hi

Happens to be the user name for the first forum I joined which was a RPG gaming one: titanquest.net and I find it easier to keep to the same one. As the game is all about Greek gods it seemed apt. Always like the Greek myths anyway.

That said another one I use on another site is Black Gold.

Re: A little late - but hi

Yup, still going strong. Most mastery combos, although not too keen on Spirit so only have a few characters using that. Been playing since early 2008 and still only have 3 characters to the end of Legendary as I have so many characters on the go. Titanquest.net is still a very active fansite for players of the game so hop over and have a look if you're interested.

Also if you're interested in Titan Quest, have you heard of the new game being devleoped by some of the people who made it? It's called Grim Dawn and will be using the same engine as Titan Quest.

Ittigen, I'm not sure if she was still living in the village then. We had a new disabled/mental facility built here a few years back and she was supposed to come and open it, but she pulled out at the last minute. She is a noted recluse though, so I guess it shouldn't have been a surprise, but a lot of people had heard about it and turned up to see her and they were very disappointed. I think the person involved in getting the facility up and running was a good friend of hers too.

OMG... and here I thought that my World of Warcraft addiction was bad enough as it was.

P.S. Welcome to the forum!

P.S.S. Is there really a city in Switzerland called "Misery?" (obviously in the French-speaking zone)

Welcome to the forum, nerd or otherwise.

To be honest, regarding ABBA, I wasn't much of a Frida fan, but I'd have probably donated a vital organ for Agnetha Fältskog at the time, but as she's 61 now, I'll probably keep my giblets intact for now.

Certainly is. I cycled past it last weekend.

(Not sure, but it might be derived from "miséricorde", French for "mercy")

Ah cool. Maybe we can coop sometime.
I have a few characters on earth, hunting, dream, warfare and rogue masteries. I was actually farming for some stuff just last weekend and found some pretty cool blue gear.

Haven't heard of Grim Dawn yet. Thanks for the tip. Will check it out.

Re: A little late - but hi

KeinFranzösisch, Misery is one of 4 villages which make up the commune of Misery-Courtion with just over 1,500 people and situated between Fribourg and Avenches. We've been here since we first moved over and have just bought a house here which we're just getting ready to move into at the end of September.

My husband gets a great kick out of telling everyone he comes home to Misery every night. Not sure if he's referring to the place or me!

Ashishshah, I only play SP, never on-line, but there are quite a few people at titanquest.net who do play either co-op or multiplay. You'll find some screenshots and a recent gameplay video release for Grim Dawn at www.grimdawn.com. If you like what you see, then spread the word to your gaming friends.

PaddyG, could also be misère which, according to my French dictionary, means extreme poverty and destitution. At least misère is what my translation package keeps translating Misery into whenever I do English to French translations. Think I prefer your explanation though. And translation packages aren't always right in their guesses at to what word to use. I remember translating the instructions for our new washing machine from French to English and it kept choosing gunpowder as the word I needed instead of washing powder!

Yep, I know. I do play SP only most of the time.
But every once in a while a couple of my friends play online just for the fun of it. Or when we try to beat Toxio.

And yes, I will check it out and spread the word depending on how I find it.
