Re: From Sussex to Zug/ Hunnigue?

By the way, if you're in Huningue, why not come down to Curry in the Park on Tuesday evening? Check out the events section for details - would be good to meet you

Must be something in the water! Makes us all run off to Switzerland!

Nice to meet you Dani
And I spent some of last school days in Sussex and ended up here from sunny Scunthorpe.

Excellent to hear that there are so many from such a small strip on the coast! I'm really up for meeting you all but I only move on the 16th August so perhaps we could come up with another event some time after that?
Me too! I'd be up for a Sussex members party. I'm on hols for 2 weeks from Aug 20th so before then or September would be good. 13th Aug is Street Parade but that's a bit too hectic for a meet up

Brighton Suggestions

So I lived in Brighton for many years before moving to Switzerland in 2004.
I looked on line for new restaurants and I hardly recognise any of these new ones so I look forward to trying a few out this weekend.
But I remember bars and pubs closing down and reopening under different names very frequently. Any recommendations on good new bars, pubs or clubs to go with my girlfriend? (as most of my mates have settled down with wife & kids now).

Cheers,
HB2

Hey Higgybaby,
In Brighton, the names are always changing! I know exactly what you mean! So are you visiting soon?

There's plenty of places, I'm just terrible with the names because I remember the old ooooold names!

However, I have posted the question on my facebook and will get back to you with the results! Lol

Cheers for these suggestions.
I just got back and only just read these.....but we did go to both The Basket Makers and Lion & Lobster. Both really great pubs with Great British food. The L &L was my local when I lived in Brighton.
I went to the Revenge.......years ago in the Acid House era when it was called Savannah

Re: From Sussex to Zug/ Hunnigue?

Hi Everyone

As this had turned into a bit of a Sussex appreciation thread I thought that I would join in I've lived just north of Brighton most of my life, but living in Bremgarten (not far from Zug) now. I hope you're all settled/settling in well in Switzerland.

Are there any other Seagulls fans amongst you? If so, would be great to catch up the next time we're on Sky (which might be a while now, but you never know)!!

Is a Sussex meet up on the cards? If so, I'd be keen to join in

This sounds like a great idea! There was a curry in Basel I had to miss - but if we get a crowd together here or near Zug, it would be great

Hi Rikalaus,

Welcome.

I'd put the car on the backburner for a while. Transport here in Switzerland is fantastic if you live in a town or city which is best if you want to get out and about in the evening. I hope your salary is going to be a fair bit higher that 4500 if you want to run your own car. Don't post your salary here though.

Anyhow what part of West Sussex are you coming from? I moved here a few years back from Brighton. I do miss seeing the sea every day a fair bit ...... and driving along the lovely A272 (haven't really driven much at all in several years). :-)

Good luck,
Higgy Baby

I agree with putting the car on the back burner!! The transport system here is fantastic.
Im also from Sussex, but East Sussex and now living in Reinach just outside Basel - ab love it here. If you fancy meetin up for a bit of reminising PM me and we can get together for a coffee... Good luck and wish you all the very best Sarah

Re: From Sussex to Zug/ Hunnigue?

Ok. It sounds like we could organise getting a few of us together in Zug. I don't live in Zug, so I wouldn't know where or what to suggest. Anyone local to the city want to suggest a good venue for a few drinks on a Friday or Saturday evening sometime?
