Hello Switzerland

hello, as from my tag, I'm PJ. I have lurked around EF for a couple of months now and with an appropriate time having passed since my disastrously unprepared and unpopular salary question I felt it was time to introduce myself.

I am moving from the Midwestern US to Geneva at the end of August for a job in the commodities arena. First work relocation abroad though I have studied in both Ireland and Spain in the past so I have a good idea of the acclimation process required. The logistics of eventually relocating the girlfriend being the most taxing process of the move so far.

Love the outdoors, looking forward to taking full advantage of my new proximity to the mountains. Anyone that knows where or wants company in watching the new Big 10 powerhouse on Saturdays drop me a PM. Though a saturday black keys show is more my idea of weekend fun than football.

Finally, wanted to say thanks to EF for the great resource in helping make the move and transition easier.

pj

Re: Hello Switzerland

Bienvenue, PJ, nice to see your sense of humour is intact.

I've no idea what you were talking about there (Big 10 powerhouse? black keys show?), but I'm sure you'll enjoy all that Switzerland (and France) has to offer.

Can balls talk in America?
Balls: No.
Ballplayers: Yes, until they are too brain damaged.
Owners of ballplayers: Yes, mainly about dollars.

Re: Hello Switzerland

Wouldn't the owners of the ballplayers be happier, then, if their ballplayers were busy playing ball instead of chatting away at some conference?

It doesn't sound like it would make very interesting television. A bit like C-SPAN, but for sports?

Re: Hello Switzerland

It's the owners who chat

Perhaps the OP will be back to clarify ... and learn what "separated by a common language" means.

So you can watch Penn State games from Geneva? That's so cool!
