New to Basel from London

Hi there,

Just a quick hello! I arrived in Basel last week (a mere 8 months later than originally intended) from London...

I'm here to take up a new job as a software developer. I got a place just off the Riehenring which is handy for work (loving the trams here! how good are they??)

Thanks to the good people who keep the forum going - this place was just what I needed to figure out what to do during the first week here.

Lovely place... rush hour takes some getting used to after the rat run in London

David

Welcome to the forum and Switzerland.

Glad the forum has been a useful resource for you so far.

Agree with you on how it takes some getting used to the rush hour here, especially after experiencing the London one for so many years. Am starting to shudder even just thinking about it.

Anyway, good luck with the new job and have fun!

Hey David, same boat as yourself I'm a developer arrived a couple of weeks ago and started a new job last week. So far so good haven't used trams yet as I can walk to work but everyone says they're the dog's.

Maybe see you out for a beer sometime..

Welcome to Basel! I share your love of the trams here...so different from a big city commute (if you can call Toronto a big city, in my case). Hope to have an opportunity to meet you soon!
