Hello - what a sudden influx of people moving here! Fab.

If I were you, I'd type "Neuchâtel" in the search box and you'll find a load of other people who have just moved/are moving soon. Maybe they'll want a roommate?

You'll be here for the Fête des Vendanges too, you lucky thing!

Welcome.

Re: New in Neuchatel!

Blimey- what is going on. This is a take-over - Neuchatel is the new Zurich, lol. (now people have voted to ease the tax situation for businesses). Hi and welcome. Another guy is arriving soon and looking for accom- get in touch and perhaps find a flat to share- cheaper than 2 separate ones.

Fete des Vendanges, is the wine harvest festival - basically party non stop and bedlam in Neuch, just once a year.
A play on words 'Faites des vents d'anges" = sounds just the same but means something quite different)

(make some winds like an angel = blow raspberries like an angel- silly I know).

There does seem to be a sudden influx to the area. Do they know something that we don't?

I never knew that - thanks for the info! Could be useful for a pub quiz...

Re: New in Neuchatel!

Another one is 'la bise au Lac Léman'

For your pub quizz

What is the lightest town in CH = Bulle

And the fastest = Nyon

But I digress (sorry)

In t'paper today - 90 new jobs created at Phillip Morris as they are closing other bases in Europe. I think the new tax laws and the fact Geneva-Lausanne, Zurich are full to bursting is going to result in a lot of new comers to area.

Ha Ha that's very funny. Will tell you more by PM if you're interested.

I agree about the new tax laws making a difference though. I guess the uni must be pretty good too as several of the newbies seem to be going there.
