| | Moving to Zurich area in the next few weeks
My wife starts a new job in Bad Zurzach next week as a result of this we will be moving to Switzerland as soon as we find somewhere to live and can organise the removal company, obviously not sure exactly where we will be living but I'm guessing somewhere between Bad Zurzach and Zurich.
Not sure what I am going to be doing yet, but until I do know what I'm doing I'll be looking for a golf course and some golfing buddies during the summer ( I play off a 13 handicap).
My background is as an embedded S/W engineer/Project Manager, these days for a number of reasons I tend to only do short term contracts one of the reasons is that I am also a qualified ski instructor
I'll no doubt post more when we have a better idea of what we are doing.
Mark

Welcome to Switzerland and the EF!
Bad Zurzach is a bit out of the way. You might feel a bit
more at home living closer to Zürich.
Baden might be a good place for you all....

In Switzerland for some house hunting, and staying in a hotel in Bad Zurzach, got woken up at 6:30am by some loud shouting either out in the corridor or on the balcony next door to our room. Then about an hour later there is a knock on the door and the Swiss Police are outside wanting to question us about the disturbance .... Interesting start to life in Switzerland |

From what we can gather the incident was a little more serious than the shouting .... since we were asked for a lot of information and identification.
Not worried about the incident just looking at it with a wry sense of humour |

It is very convenient for shopping in Germany. | Quote: | | | | | Baden might be a good place for you all.... | | | | | There are many nice places to live between Baden and Zurzach. It all depends on what you are looking for and your budget.

Well as is useful in my wife and I's life things tend to happen fairly quickly, got the last of the removal quotes today, made a selection and packing starts on Friday(3 days time) with delivery Wednesday next week!!.
According to my wife my first job will be to unpack the ice cream maker and make her some chocolate fruit and nut ice cream |

Do you have an appartment already? We are moving out from our apartment in the coming weeks and it will be available.
Its at Englischviertelstrasse in Zurich (quite center) and the rent is less than 2500 for 95 sm.
The only problem, is that the house will be renovated (even its not needed), and people have to move out Dec 2012.

Okay so finally made it to Switzerland, Freienwil to be precise, had to make an unplanned trip to the UK for a few weeks, but now finally here.
Unfortunately I've probably missed the Golf season now but hopefully I'll get some skiing in soon
I'm planning to run off to the US sometime in December for the Ski season but until then if anybody a) wants to help me unpack boxes (though made a big dent in them already) or b) just wants to be sociable let me know. As I am going to be a stay at home husband for a while.
