I have vague memories of getting GF working one rainy weekend in a Windoze 7 VM some time ago. Seeing Manny's username made me want to hear the tolling of the bell when you whip out your scythe again. Maybe I will have a go at getting it working again... If I remember, I will respond to my own post with instructions.

For a quick fix try the new Monkey Island Special Edition!
Beeing a LucasArts fan since Maniac Mansion I was skeptical at first, but it's actually quite nice and it will probably run on your machine!

I never hear bells after I whip out my scythe, just the occasional giggle.

It's funny, usually when you get a newbie intro thread running into 4 pages, it's a complete firestorm triggered by some daft but controversial opening statement ("I've been in Swiss for 5 minutes, where can I go and buy a gun and shoot stuff?").

This Intro is one of the best ones I've seen and has made my lunchtime!
