Moving to Basel

Hi,

I'm finally moving to Swiss on Sunday

And I just realised I have been making posts without doing the introduction thing first

I've been in/out of Basel quite a lot visiting my girlfriend who moved here 3.5 years ago, and I am moving here permanently (or until she gets fed up with me).

All I need now is German lessons and a job...

I like cycling (on road and mountain biking) so if you have any good routes in the Basel area feel free to post some maps/links

Re: Moving to Basel

Welcome to Basel! I have seen many mountain bikers in places like Neuchatel and Biel but its not my thing so can't really offer any more info. Good luck with everything!

Re: Moving to Basel

We live in the charming village of muttenz, 15 mins tram ride from centre of town - and there are loads of amazing bike trails through forest and farmland.

Re: Moving to Basel

My friends who are keen cyclers like to bike up to Hofstetten - It's pretty steep coming up from Ettingen but doable, otherwise there is a more easier route coming up from Fluh. It's a bit out of Basel but it's nicer in the country anyway.
Welcome to Basel and good luck in your new start.
