Icelander moving to Zurich

Hi,

Just moved here this week and going to study engineering in ETH for the next two years (masters degree). I've spent most part of the last month reading threads on this site trying to figure out how things work (where would I be without this site?), so I thought it was about time I introduced myself.

I already have a room (a friend of mine got me one at WOKO) so the hardest problem with Zurich was solved quite easily. Now I'm sort of just riding the tram, getting to know the city, buying basic things and working through the paperwork.

Interests are mountaineering, computers, electronics, sports to name a few.

I can't speak much German although I can read quite a bit (and very interested in learning more) so I guess this is a good medium to meet people with similar interests. You can already see me quite desperate in the Sports/Fitness forum, haha.

Regards,
Kári

Welcome to ZH, CH and the ETH.

You'll have lots of fun here. Don't miss the Hoengg party at the end of the month.....ETH misses the fun party life of North American Post-sec institutes, but for this night, they get close to party school atmosphere of a great university experience :P

Welcome. The previous Icelander we had on this forum was very well received by this community. I hope you find that too.

Re: Icelander moving to Zurich

Haha, I don't know if I should be reading anything in between the lines of the last post, but thanks, I hope I will keep up the reputation .

And yes, it seems like a place where you can have a lot of fun, at least I've been enjoying myself for the last few days. I'll make a not of that Hoengg party, sound like a good one, thanks!
