I thought I would drop an introduction since I'm new around here.

I'm a Canadian guy from the west coast of British Columbia. I recently moved to Zürich to be with my amazing wife, who has been living here for over a year. I am a civil construction surveyor by trade in my homeland, but since I don't speak an ounce of German, French or Italian, I think I'll be looking for other types of work.

I love Switzerland so far. Everything is so clean and green. The language barrier is going to be a bit of a roadblock, but I am excited to learn some German all the same.

My hobbies include DJing, music production, skateboarding, cycling and playing sports (basketball, football[aka soccer in Canada], tennis and badminton being my favourites).

I look forward to meeting like minded people, and taking in all that this beautiful country has to offer!

Welcome to the Forum! Are you from Vancouver area? Hope you enjoy all that Switzerland has to offer. There is a great program to learn German/French/Italian or any language for that matter at home called www.rosettastone.com if your interested in learning. I have found it quite useful as I too am from the USA and only speak English. Best of luck!

@sflorida_sweetie2 - I am from Victoria, which is on Vancouver Island. So pretty close to Vancouver. And yes, I have seen the Rosetta Stone software packages. They look great, but are quite pricey (especially if you but them in Europe. They are so much cheeper in Canada! ). I am trying my luck with using the internet and self teaching for now.
