Yet another 'Dutchie' moving to CH!

Hello all!

I registered a while back but now that everything is official, I will do my best to actively participate in the discussions and try to learn as much as I can (I have already learned so much!).

I'll be moving to Zurich end of December, and I am still looking for a place to live (in case you have some insider's info). Hopefully I'll be joining all the social events starting from January or so

And the reason for me moving? I found a job (my first job after university) in Zurich!

Whereabouts are you??

I was living in Ganzanhoef (Bijlmer/Amsterdam) until last June...I think. Isn't Amsterdam another one of those places that if you think you were there, you probably weren't??

Welcome to the forum
Funny story.. Looking at your user name reminds me of when I was growing up.

Back home, those of English descent make fun of those of Dutch (The Afrikaaners) descent and visa versa.
The Afrikaaners would call the English "Rooinek" and the English would call the Afrikaaners Dutchmen! Both considered derogatory terms

(I am an in-betweener. Half and half, so I was always getting insulted no matter which side I was on!)
Lol, good times

Right now, I live near Utrecht, so not in Amsterdam. Although I am there on a frequent base

Meisie, now you got me curious to see why my username reminded you of your childhood!
I am a half-blood too, they rule think of it this way, you get the best of both worlds

*sigh*, see, this is what happens when I surf the forum after a long and tiring day instead of going to bed, my brain actually becomes dysfunctional . A few other members on the forum can actually attest my sorry excuse of synapses that occur later at night.

Ok, what I meant to say was that your thread title reminded me of my childhood. Not your user name. Your user name actually reminds me of the health minister we had back home who said that people with HIV should eat garlic and beetroot to treat it

Don't worry, I have the same issue (occasionally, but I know how you feel)

Hmm, that's interesting. Of course, the obvious next question is, did it help with treating HIV, eating garlic and beetroot? People never cease to amaze me...

That would be great! I of course also need some tips on where to get a decent beer (after all, I am coming from NL ) and it might be nice to talk Dutch once in a while! I'll let you know once I am actually in Zurich. Thanks!
