New in Vaud

Hi everyone,

I just moved from Holland to Switzerland. I am Indonesian, a mother of 2 kids (2 years old boy and 5 months old girl) and a wife of hollander. We live in the village in Vaud area. We moved here because of the new job of my husband.

We got a lot of usefull information about living in Switzerland from here. So, thank you to EF & EFers.

The first time I came here about a month ago I was (and still) dazzled on the view I have seen around me, everywhere even the view from apartment where we live right now. It is really beautiful.

I like cooking. I also interested in photography but still learning how to make a good pics.

I don't speak French yet and my English is also still far away from good . So still need to learn hard for those 2 languages.

Thank you. I agree with you that Morges is nice area to live. I visited Morges several times, sometimes we just sit on grass next to the lake, enjoying the view & weather while kid playing and my husband working in Morges.

We are living in Chavornay that has nice view too. I can see The Jura from our windows and in the night I can see stars above me as our bedrooms is in the attic with glass windows roof.

Hi,

I do hope that you feel settled soon. There are a number of groups/clubs that you could join including "Lausanne Mom" and the "American International Women's Club". There is also a book called Know-it-all parents that is extremely useful.

Thank you Rosrae. I had a quick checked at "Lausanne Mom" and it seems interesting. But I'll have see more detail later after I really done with unpacking our stuff. We still have some boxes unopen yet and there's still 1 room in our apartment than needs my hands. . But, thank you for the informations.

Re: New in Vaud

Welcome to the Forum.

It's fun to read an Introduction that is really an introduction and not a sly job ad, housing searching question or similar post which calls for a 'This is in the wrong sub-forum' message. You'll see what I mean if you stick around and I sincerely trust that you will.

Hope the rest of the settling in goes well.
