| | I'm new here - Any fellow students at ETH or University of Zürich?
I recently moved to Zürich and I am looking for people to go out to bars with or restaurants? I don't know very many people so just exploring the city by my self gets old, not that Zürich isn't beautiful. Look forward to hearing back from from people.

Welcome to the Forum.
I've moved this as we don't know anything about you yet and you might get a few welcoming posts as replies.
What are your interests? What sort of things do you like doing? If your free-time is spent iin bars and restaurants, you'll soon be bankrupt so it might be good to mention other hobbies.

But I really enjoy museums, hiking, music (from todays music to classical and opera), beer (I used to do home brewing back in the States), I am really into automobiles, cooking, and the lists goes on.

I guess a little more info would be good too, I am from the States. Specifically, from Louisville, kentucky. If your familiar with Bourbon, I didn't live to far where Jim Beam and Makers Mark are made, not to mention where the Kentucky Derby happens every year. I have been exploring Zürich quite a bit this first week and I am really excited to spend the next year here.

I think, seeing that you haven't had any replies to this, that all your fellow students must must be asleep. Or maybe they are actually working.
Good to know a little bit more about you. There's a thread on here about cooking on the cheap, which will probably help to keep the wolf from the door. Good luck.

Hi,
I'm a PhD student at Uni Irchel. There is a small group of us students who get together and hang out. This Saturday we are having a little potluck and then going swing dancing. Let me know if you're interested in joining us.
Kyle

PM or let me know if any fellow students want to grab a coffee or something, some colleagues have told me La Stanza is a fantastic cafe, however, I have no idea where it is. Especially on a cold day like today, the coffee taste extra good!

Hi there! La Stanza is indeed offering one of the best coffee in town, especially the cappuccino is really italian-like. From Paradeplatz, walk along Bleicherweg, cross the river, you'll find it on the right.
