I'm Rachael and moved here 2 months ago from the US. Living in Schaffhausen now with my husband and trying to keep busy while I'm making myself at home. Any suggestions on things to do/see?

Greetings. Schaffhausen is a lovely place.

I take it you've visited all the local attractions, but in case not:

-The Rheinfall is always worth a trip - http://www.rheinfall.ch/

-Climbing the stairs to the Munot to get a good view over Schaffhausen - http://www.munot.ch/

It's not a long train journey to go to Zurich, either direct (1 hour) or changing at Winterthur (40mins) and you are open to a world of other stuff to do (including meeting other people from here - can't comment on that as I've not tried it yet!).

Wellcome to this lovely town of Schaffhausen. Definitly Rheinfall is one of those, Monut and there is another place called RANDEN. Its nice place combination of thick forest and green fields. i liked it though

Is that the place where there is a steepish hill and a restaurant on top in the middle of nowhere?

Yeah meeting people is always difficult when you feel like you can't communicate with anybody!

also make a trip to stein am rhein (can do so by boat) and also many forests around you can explore. bit cold now, but in summer there are various badi's you can go to along the river.
