Hello from Birmingham!

Hi,

Forum Newbie! I came across this (wonderful!) forum while googling things about Switzerland, as I'm interested in checking out the possibilities of moving over/spending a length of time there.

My girlfriend lives in Baden, and although I manage to get across about once a month (thank you EasyJet!) I think Switzerland is a GREAT place! And I'd love to spend some time there and then possibly base myself there.

All the info on this forum has been massively helpful! So I wanted to say a big thank you to anyone and everyone who does help, this is a great idea while introducing myself =)

Rhys

Hello welcome to the forum!

There's a few of us brummies lurking around aswell as a few yams... We tend to hide in corners and come out after a few beers.

You should have no issues once you find some work, permits etc are easy on old school EU8

Re: Hello from Birmingham!

Hi! Thank you!

EU8????

I wondered, do I have to have a permit BEFORE I start looking for jobs or do you just get it while you're working? Is there a problem with this.

Am really hoping I'm in a position to move over within the next year, but I'm trying to make sure that it's a safe move over, financially etc. I'm saving so that I can do a couple of months over there to get a grip of things and be in more of a position to experience some of the problems I will have to account for if I want to make the move permanent.

So, what's this EU8?
