Hi ya'll!

Just officially found out this weekend that my family (hubs, 2 young sons, Old English Sheepdog) and I will be moving to Schaffhausen at the beginning of next year due to a company move for my husband. We're currently in S. Florida which has exactly one season (hot!) and are super excited to move somewhere that gets snow I've had a head's up about the possibility of a move for a month or so, so I've been lurking on EF and learning a lot about our new soon-to-be home country. Thanks to all of you for the very helpful and informative posts!

Over here in the States, I worked as an American Sign Language interpreter and Deaf Education teacher for several years. Unfortunately, German isn't coming as easily to me as sign language, but I'm sure I'll get it eventually...

Look forward to eventually getting to know/meet you all!

Re: Hi ya'll!

to the EF, mama!

It is late at night (or, if you prefer, very early in the morning) in Switzerland, so it will be some time before others join me in welcoming you.

Re: Hi ya'll!

Hello and welcome. Hope the move goes okay for you and that you enjoy the snow. There'll probably be plenty of it by the time you arrive here.

Re: Hi ya'll!

What part of Switzerland are you moving to?

In the states, I was a behavior therapist with deaf kids, went to gallaudet, etc. I'm also having a harder time with german than sign language. I'm hoping to keep working with the deaf population but it seems to be pretty difficult here. now i understand why i had so many deaf friends from european countries in america!

Re: Hi ya'll!

Thanks for all of the warm welcomes! Already planning the move and getting everything in order. Looking forward to getting settled in and being able to entertain in the new year--and learning how to cook some new foods
