newby in the city of Zurich

hello!

I've been looking through this forum for few weeks now and found it very helpful so it's high time for me to register!

I'm moving to Zurich in two weeks to start my PhD studies, chill out and enjoy the time in Switzerland=] my new team is working on cancer biology on the University of Zurich, playing with mice and so on;]

despite walking in a white lab coat I'm kayaker from Morzkulc Students Kayaking Club, a motorcycling enthusiast (will try to bring my bike in the spring time) and a fixed gear biking addict - surely I'll look for a bike around Zurich!

cheers for everyone and thanks for all the information you've already posted here - hope one day I could also help someone=]

Hi Michail!
Just noticed no-one has said hello yet, so thought I'd start the ball rolling. Welcome! Good luck with your studies, though I'm not sure if I like the playing with mice thing. Anyway. Hope your move goes well, I'm sure you'll find plenty of people to kayak, motorcycle and cycle with, not me though, I'm more of a keeping my feet on terra-firma kind of exercise girl.

Hi Michail! Welcome to the city. I'm sure you'll love it here. Lots of other motorcycling and fixed gear bike enthusiasts and plenty of mice in the fields. I was looking for places to rent a kayak this summer but without much luck - so let me know if you find somewhere. Cheers!

I thought there's a kayaking club on the Limmat river..if I remember well, paddeln.ch was their www - maybe they can help?
there are also rowing clubs near the lake, but I don't know much about them=]
what kind of kayak you were looking for?
