| | A Lithuanian joined your community :)
Hi!
I am Tauras, I have just moved to Zurich from Vilnius, Lithuania, as my girlfriend got a job here. Even though I have a small successful business in education management back home, I decided that I need new challenges and of course I want to be close to my girlfriend, therefore I hired new staff to replace me and I moved here. So far I havent seen the country much, but I ám sure I will eventually.
Today I am going to German Conversation Group meeting where I hope my German improving starts. Also, I have started looking for a job here, somewhere where I could apply my skills in business, event, project management and marketing, but while I was a student I used to work behing the bar and even was a temporary chef at the busy pub in the UK. Even though I am an Economics graduate from University of Surrey, but I always had a passion for hospitality business, so I am thinking that life is too short for caring what people might think and stressing about the money and big career too much, hence I started to look for a job in a nice bar or restaurant for various roles - from a manager to a bartender. Therefore I would be grateful If you know anything available all over the country as I have a car here.
And of course - thank you to all the members who make this forum active and very informative for a newcomers like me.
Wish you all the best,
Tauras

As a welcome in the new member's mother tongue this is, of course, permitted, but I'd love a translation, just in case I decide to start learning yet another language. |

Welcome to the forum, I hope you'll find it entertaining and of course, informative!
Btw, interesting language, doesn't seem like any other I (even vaguely) know or I can at least recognize. Cheers!

haha Yeah, we put a lot of smileys
Anyway, Lithuanian is one of the oldest languages in Europe and the World. It is not similar to any other language except Latvian.
You can read more about it on wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lithuanian_language
And if somebody is interested in learning the language, I would be more than happy to help in return of German lessons haha |
