I "have" been in CH for about 6 years.
I didn't know that the chemical notation for "Carbonite" was CH !!!
although it seems appropriate. | Quote: | | | | | I have been on the forum before using as I am my wife were shring the ID. but recently in some debates we had such different opinions that I decide to upgrade my self and create my own id. | | | | | Good idea,
passing comments accross threads may create the impression that the user is of 'bisexual' orientation.
Anyway,
Welcome to the Dark side Hans
and may the mods force be with you

Hiya
Good thing is as explained I am not a newbie newbie.
Now to add to TidakApa knowledge on chemistry to bit of history Switzerland is also Confoederatio Helvetica, hence its abbreviation CH (from wiki). I don't think it is wrong to use it at all. And on your bisexual comment, I feel there are all kind of people. One who think sexist, sexual etc and other normal once.
@ouchboy. Offcourse not. I shot him first
Anways, thanks a lot for the warm welcome.

Hello and welcome to the Forum.
As a note, nobody usually refers to Switzerland as "CH" as it's an abbreviation for Latin words and we prefer people to use the term Switzerland, as it's English.

Hi, and welcome to the EF! Great to see you've "come out", as it were ...
I never had any doubt that Han shot first - no way even Greedo could miss at that range, unless he already had a groin full of blaster energy.
On another note, over my time I've spotted a bunch of people calling Switzerland CH in various places, just as many people call Swiss Francs CHF (or "chuffs").

CH is the standard, international abbreviation for Switzerland and it is perfectly correct to use it in English - especially on an internet forum as it is a lot shorter to write than Switzerland. Subsequently it is used frequently on EF. Or would you rather I wrote "on the English Forum"... | The following 6 users would like to thank Carlos R for this useful post:

Cheers | | | | | Nobody as in nobody on this forum, or nobody in Switzerland? CH is the official abbreviation for Switzerland in all languages.
(At least that's what's on page 3 of my "eCHo" book I need to study for my Swiss citizenship test).

Hands up if you regret making a joke about "CH" being the chemical symbol for the imaginary substance "carbonite" that Han Solo was frozen in? | This user would like to thank TidakApa for this useful post:

Dear All
Thanks for taking a dig on the newbie and thanks for the rest to come to the rescue. Actually if it was not done like then then I would have really felt left out. If no one was taking a dig I would have wondered if I choose a bad name (don't dare think that) or do I need to put witty descriptions on my profile or something else.
We all know uncle max is a forum veteran and a mod. He had to say not because he is like that. He had to say because he was playing the role of a Mod and din't wanted to spoil the mods reputation by not writing something like this (excuse me all the mods, this is my turn now) . At least it was better try then saying I don't like the font kind of thing.
Thanks again everyone for such a warm welcome. I already belong to the group which has come to my rescue and will start firing the other one. Watch out for your posts .
