Hi,

I 'officially' moved to Luzern next week. My boyfriend has been here for 18 months but Switzerland is still feeling very new to me. I'm still trying to work freelance from the UK... But we'll see how long that lasts.

I'm 30 and would love to meet some people in and around Luzern, especially some female friends for a cup of coffee or large glass of wine.

This forum has been a great introduction to Switzerland for me, so thanks everyone.

A few geordies in Luzern for sure, as stated earlier, check out Legends, usualy a couple of expats knocking about most days of the week. You can also try Pickwicks, and also an Irish bar near schwannenplatz that used to be Known as Gracie Kellys, don't know the name now

I always liked Grace Kelly's when I used to visit at weekends, even the strong smell of cooking fat coming from the kitchen felt inviting, i'll have to find out what its like now, under the new management. As a Brit abroad I have obviously frequented Pickwicks, although, and it may just be the times I was in there, it seemed to be filled with backpackers or younger people passing through.

I shall be seeking out Legends this week, although maybe not for a brown ale, not all of us are huge fans of it to be honest... but shhh! don't tell anyone I may get banned from the toon.

How did settling into a new city become about the bars... Haha. Thanks again guys.

If you're on FB, you could also join the Luzern & Central Switzerland expat group, they do things other than going to bars and drinking. I think there's a theatre group, book clubs, bar nights, sales and so forth, join up!
