Almost new to Switzerland

Hello everyone! I'm an epidemiologist in the UK who's been travelling to Basel monthly for the last 4 years for work. I'm looking at relocating soon and, although I've been reading this forum for a while, thought I'd create a profile. Thanks!

Re: Almost new to Switzerland

Wow , it took you 4 years of monthly trips to Basel to finally move here?
Do you work with the university or industry...Novartis, Roche, Bayer..etc?

Anyway, welcome to Basel and give us a shout when you're here!

Thank you so much but I was not given the offer to convert my contract to that of the Swiss office of my company until now. I work for an NGO (qango/charity hybrid).

That explains what was a mystery to me: Why would an epidemiologist work in Basel (land of Big Pharma) rather than Geneva (home of the WHO).

We partially work under a grant from a "big Pharma" company and use their facilities.
