Hi, all! My name is Sarah Cline and I live in Austin, TX with my husband Philip and our 5-month old daughter, Charlotte (born 14 May 2007). We will be relocating to Geneva by March 2008! We're all U.S. citizens, but I grew up overseas (spent several years in Geneva when I was very small, and went to highschool in Russia), and my husband served in the Navy. We have a big bullmastiff named Strazh, whom we adore. Philip and I actually met in college in Geneva 6 years ago (anybody familiar with Webster University?), but we have been living and working in Texas for the past 3 years. We're really excited to be returning to Switzerland, but it's going to be a very different transition this time around! We're parents and a family now, not college students! I'm really looking forward to meeting new people and finding a great support network in Geneva. I'm familiar with Geneva, but I know that it will be completely different when I'm there as a mom. I already have tons of questions, and hope that this group can be a great resource, for finding both information and new friends!

Welcome to the forum! All the best for the big move, I hope everything goes smoothly. Be sure to post about everything you learn during the process as well as asking questions. I must say that I have a soft spot for Austin, TX - such a great atmosphere, different from the rest of Texas.

Yes, I have to agree, Austin TX is a special place ... particularly if your are a live music fan ... many a long evening spent in EMO's, Beerland or my personal favourite The Continental Club !

Just in case you haven't come across this as you prepare for your move:

Do make sure you understand the new regulations covering 'dangerous dogs' in force in Geneva... unfortunately, your bull mastiff will fall under the canton's BSL.
