Moving to Switzerland in a few months (Vevey)

Hello everybody!
We are an Italian family that has lived in London for the past 6 years that is moving to Vevey/Lausanne in May from the UK. We have two kids (3.5 and 1 month old).

Any immediate tips as we are starting planning our new life - in other words what would you do and not do in hindsight when you moved to Switzerland/Vevey the first time around?

Also, curious to hear any views on International schools (English/French) in Vevey and Lausanne!

Many thanks

Gino

Re: Moving to Switzerland in a few months (Vevey)

Hi Gino,

We moved from London to Lausanne last year. I wish i had...

- stocked up on everything my toddler would need in advance, childrens foods (Ellas Kitchen pouches, Organix range) toys, clothes, nappies etc are all sooooooo much cheaper in London and the choice is so much more vast in London too. Husband's company paid for our relocation and the moving van had an extra 6 metres spare, it hurts when i think of all the stuff i could have shoved in there that i am now asking visiters to squeeze into their luggage, or pay to ship over here.

- put kids on the BIP list as soon as you have an address - you may well wait a long while for a childcare place at a garderie / kindergarden to be available.
