new(ish) to Basel

Hi Everybody,

I moved to Basel last October but have been traveling a good bit since then. I am now settled in and wanted to introduce myself on the forum.

I am a late 20-something American who moved to Switzerland with my husband (who is a Swiss citizen). I absolutely love Basel, but I am struggling a bit in finding my own place here (outside of my husband's friends and family). I am hoping to, first, improve my German and then eventually find a job. I am also anxious to meet other English speakers. The english forum seemed like a good place to start.

Would anybody else in a similar situation be up for grabbing coffee or a drink? PM me if so!

Happy Easter!

Re: new(ish) to Basel

Hello,

Welcome to the EF. I am also an American that moved here in Nov. 2011.
I have lots of free time on my hands and always looking to meet new people as I am in the same boat as you. The only people I know are my wifes friends and alot of them only speak German and very little to no English.
Needless to say I spend alot of time at home with nothing to do since I do not work.

Feel free to drop me a line and we can meet up for a drink or coffee sometime.
