New to Lausanne

Hi, I am a Scottish-born foreign correspondent and novelist based in Africa. Next month I am moving to Lausanne with my family as a fellow at EPFL. I like art, architecture, literature, tennis and the outdoors. We still need to find an apartment, preferably in a Bohemian bit of Lausanne, if there is such, and with access to a primary school. Any tips and contacts would be most appreciated.

Re: New to Lausanne

Hi, I live in st sulpice opposite epfl. Myself and family are English and we have been here since July 2011. I don't know much about Lausanne but if you need to know anything about surrounding area let me know! I also work at epfl as secretary since Feb this year. St Sulpice is lovely but obviously quiet although it is a lovely area for the children with access to lake and beaches. Lausanne is definitely more bohemian and more happening, but equally very accessible from all surrounding areas. Take care, Jennifer Dinkeldein.

Re: New to Lausanne

Thanks, Jen. Very kind of you to reply. The main task for us to find a good primary school for our youngest - Epfl recommended the one in St Sulpice, not least because one can come and go more easily for pick ups. Do you have knowledge about the school? I can ask you myself when I arrive at Epfl next month... the family will join in July.
