Newby from Italy

Hi everybody,
I'm an italian guy, planning to settle in Switzerland with my partner that still lives there.
I'm glad i have found this forum, there are a lot of information on "how to" stuff.
I'm not a wizz at english, so forgive me if i say something wrong.

I'm looking at your posts on german courses, because i need to find one preferably in Kanton Schwitz (i plan to settle in Pfaeffikon SZ) or at list nearby. I will need to find also an offer of training courses, because i think it would be very difficult to find soon a job like my actual one... (i am a customer account for a mobile carrier).

I will leave my friends and family... i hope to find new friends ^_^

Loki

Hi There and Welcome to the EF

I moved from Dublin to Basel just a month ago and I don't speak German at all and what i have realized so far it' is you can live in Switz. without speaking any words at all..
I mean, all the people i have met here in basel they all speak english, doesn't matter if they speak a perfect or not...but you can still go to the shop and buy whatever u need.

So... don't give up and try to improve your english first if you think it's that bad (i don't think it is actually ) then once here you can start a german course.

what kind of job you would like to looking for?

In bocca al lupo e non scoraggiarti

Re: Newby from Italy

Thanks Marianna.Red!
I know it's not so difficult live in Switzerland. I usually come in Pfaeffikon... wann ich im Urlaub bin (when I'm on holyday) or have free days off work.
I'm also studing German using Lustiges Taschenbuch (Disney Comics: very entertaining ;-)) and reading Deutsch Perfekt.

I'm searching for a job hopefully in a Mobile Carrier company or something similar to Customer Managment. Here in Italy I'm a Customer Account (Customer Assistant - Customer Management and Consulting) for H3G. It's similar to a Call Center job, but more developed on a customer 360° management basis and only sometimes I sell products(I provide customers with technical assistance, commercial consulting, handle general requestes and complaints etc...)

I've done also different jobs like bartender, lifeguard (I actually live in Liguria), and so on... I'm versatile... So I can search as well a shop assistant job... I prefer not to publish my CV.

Grazie per l'incoraggiamento!

Re: Newby from Italy

I agree with your method, reading comics is the best way to improve a language...!

I'm also from Italy (sono romana) and I moved to Zurich only 4 months ago.... if you have any questions... just send me a PM!

Buona serata e in bocca al lupo!
