Tower crane/bus/lorry driver looking to try Switzerland.

Hello,

My late father lived and worked in Geneva for about twenty years. I spent a lot of my childhood there. I have decided that I have become stuck in a rut here in the UK and fancy a change.

I am a tower crane operator and slinger banksman by trade. I also hold hgv and a bus licenses.

I have questions about converting driving licenses and possibilities of work. Permits etc.

I am new to the forum and will have a good look. Honestly though I am more than willing to flip burgers to start.

My spoken French is ok and have a reasonable understanding. My written French is, well, appalling.

Any advice would be gladly received.

Re: Tower crane/bus/lorry driver looking to try Switzerland.

The problem is this is a well paid job, and many people aspire to this job, so vacancies tend to be filled by mates & word of mouth.

However you can look here and weigh up your chances, http://www.jobscout24.ch/fr/

Your UK driving licenses would be transferable, but your crane license probably needs to be re-taken.

I don't know anything about crane operators, but the TL in Lausanne is always hiring bus drivers. http://www.t-l.ch/offreemplois.html
