Hello from future Broc resident

Hello! I am moving to Broc, Switzerland on December 26th. I'm not sure how long I am going to stay. I bought a one-way ticket but will need to find some way to get a visa to stay longer. If anyone lives in or around Broc or Fribourg and want to meet up once I am there let me know. I'm trying to find English and French speakers to converse with, once I'm there. I'm also looking for someone who may need or want an English speaking au pair. I'm even looking to volunteer teaching English. If you could help me out I would greatly appreciate it! Thanks!

Hello and welcome. Be honest, you are going to Broc for the Cailler chocolate factory.

Highly recommended, factory tour average, chocolate tasting at the end awesome. Eat till you are physically sick, I did

Re: Hello from future Broc resident

I'm actually going to Broc, because my Swiss boyfriend currently lives there. I'm not actually sure what I'm going to do there yet. I'm looking into aupairing (so if you know of a family that needs/wants an English speaking aupair ... let me know. I'm trying to find one that speaks French). I may look into school there. I have my BS degree but need to further my education eventually. As of now, I'm just moving there and living day by day and seeing what opportunties come my way.

Oof! Not to be discouraging, but Broc is a bit in the middle of nowhere in Gruyere. I've been there once to a motorcycle store... Not much opportunity there for anything. You might be better off living in Fribourg and commuting TO Broc. Unless you have a car, you will be really stuck there. I mean even Bulle (much bigger then Broc) is tiny.

Re: Hello from future Broc resident

yeah, ive been there a few times. im not too worried about it. i have my feet, the train, and i can always hitch-hike. we're also thinking about moving to fribourg in march once his lease is up at his current place in Broc. Do you know of anyone leaving fribourg around march that has a good deal there?
