Moving to Zurich

Hi,

we're going to move to Zurich next month (August'2012).
We visited the city last week just to check the surroundings...

We are currently having two big problems...

- My companion has been looking for a job there for the last 2 months without success. She doesn't speak German, and that looks like the biggest obstacle. She's a jurist, and has worked at central financial institutions and at one of the big4 auditing firms.

- We still don't have a house...and with all the things we've been reading we're a little bit afraid of what's to come...does anyone have any advice on how to find one? Anyone knows a good relocation service or someone who can help us (for a fee)?

Re: Moving to Zurich

Hi,

For jobs you can try http://www.jobs.ch/en/, there are not many in English but you can subscribe and receive emails everyday.

For finding a place to live http://www.homegate.ch/, there's lot of competition to get a place, i.e, too many people applying for one place.

You can also try http://www.ronorp.net/ and go to the Zurich (EN) section, or translate the Zurich German section in Google translate.

Or http://immomailing.ch/english.html.

Good luck!

Re: Moving to Zurich

We've been using those sites for the last few weeks.

Housing : most of the listings don't answer by email or only have a visitation day (and we're still not in Zurich)

Job : she's applying for most of the things that fit, but unfortunately... Most require german...
