Nice to meet you!

Hi there,

I realized the other day that I never "officially" posted an introduction in this section (sorry about that).

Firstly, thank you!!! A million and one thank you's to all of the people on here that have contributed such an awesome wealth of good useful information on living in Switzerland. I can't begin to express how much this forum has already helped us in our research. I think I have about 50+ bookmarks on our computer alone of just links that I found through this forum that have been uber-useful to us.

On with the introduction I guess....
My husband and I live in Canada at the moment....he was born here and I immigrated to Canada from Switzerland (my birth country) when I was nine years old. We have an 18 month old son, who is getting his Swiss passport this month! (and I am getting mine renewed finally...I procrastinate too much ). We are in the middle of planning our move to Switzerland, where we hope to live for many years to come. I still have lots of family over there (father and sisters etc) and we have visited often (Just last month actually!). Fingers crossed that our plan pans out for the coming Spring/Summer 2013.
I do still understand Swiss-German and speak it...though not that well anymore....I mix English in when I can't remember certain words and I also throw in some Viennese dialect (my mother is Austrian and my father is Swiss)....makes for some ridiculous sentences on my part. I definitely feel more comfortable with English at the moment . My husband is currently working on learning his German....I am trying not to screw up his learning too much by confusing him with Swiss-German .
I think that about covers it for now....all in all....we are super excited for this new adventure and can't thank you enough to have this place to learn from.

Best,
Sabine

Ps...These *might* me the reason I really want to move back to Switzerland....

Welcome Sabine, we have a few Canadians around, so before you move ask them if they need any maple syrup.
