Newbies to the Neuchatel area

Hi All,

I have just moved to the Neuchatel area from the UK and wanted to introduce my family and myself. We are Craig (me!), Victoria and our two kids - Megan (aged 8) and Matthew (aged 5....6 on friday).

We are settling in well (this is week 3) and the kids start at the international School in Neuchatel (Montessori one...) next week, so that will be a big settler for them.

Other than that we are looking to join the community and checking out any events we can attend to meet you all, and clubs for us and the kids.

Thanks
Craig, Victoria, megan and matthew.

Welcome to the area! There are quite a few of us around these parts, and events fairly regularly so hope to meet you soon! If you have any specific questions about Neuchatel, send me a PM and I will help with whatever I can.

Re: Newbies to the Neuchatel area

Welcome to Neuchatel. There are indeed quite a few of us around theses parts and we do organise regular events.

The next one is a barbecue on September 8th see details here Romandie EF Barbecue

We have a 12 year old boy in the local school here so if you want to meet up sometime just give us a shout. I'm sure once your kids start school you'll meet lots of English speakers but you might want to check out the Neuchatel International club www.thenic.ch which organises events for families and may also be able to help you on the football question.

Which part of Neuchatel are you in?

You've come at a great time as the weather is fantastic at the moment.

ETA. Just saw that Kristanez has added a new event for this Friday. Romandie Day at the Lake Would be great if my son had some other kids to play with.

Re: Newbies to the Neuchatel area

Welcome Craig.

We moved here in May and our daughter Kiera, 7 years old <<turns 8 in October>> and our son Max, 6 years old <<turned 6 in June>> starting at the international school next week. So same ages! We would love to get the kids together whenever you are interested.

Just send me a message some time.

Re: Newbies to the Neuchatel area

Hi Bonaire,

Sounds good! Are they going to the one in Avenue des Cadolles? It would be really good to get the kids together. I cannot seem to respond in a PM (only 4 allowed in 24hrs?) - Sorry new to the forum.

Will send you my contact details in the morning (and my wife's) and we can set up a meeting with you and the kids.

Thanks
Craig

Re: Newbies to the Neuchatel area

Hi,

this is week three for us as well! We have three kids - they turn 7, 5 and 2 in two weeks. Their birthdays are on consecutive days.

Hope to meet you in Auvernier on Friday!

Re: Newbies to the Neuchatel area

Hi Carlasmom,

Sounds great - glad to see there are people in the same boat - we can compare notes on friday!

Hi Kristanez,

Just a quick question - where are we all meeting (apart from Auvernier Beach) so that I end up in the right place?

We look forward to meeting you all.

Thanks
Craig

Re: Newbies to the Neuchatel area

We will meet somewhere along the water's edge (within view of the diving dock). I'll make an EF sign so you don't have to approach strangers. Sorry I can't be too much more specific, it will depend how full the beach is on the day, but it will definitely be along the grassy area beside the lake, between the lake and the rail line (when you park, go down the path toward the lake, then left toward the grassy area until you see the dock, then look for the EF sign).
