Ciao from Luzern

Hello everybody,
I am Italian and I recently moved to Luzern from London together with my husband and daughter. I would therefore welcome the opportunity to meet some new friends in the area.

Additionally as a (hopefully soon) working mamma I am trying to understand how I can manage the childcare for my three years old daughter.
Can anyone give me ideas how working mammas are doing in CH?
I did some research on Internet about Preschools etc...but for a three years old child it looks like all the schools finish quite early in the day...will I also need a nanny?

I am quite confused, therefore any suggestion is more than welcome.
Thank you so much to anyone who can help me!

Hi, you need to find a public day school (staatliche Tagesschule), but there are only a few. Or get a place in a nursery school (Kinderkrippe) that is very expensiv. Maybe an Au-Pair is a solution? Good luck!

Re: Ciao from Luzern

I am moving from the UK to work in a bilingual creche that offers childcare from 7am-7pm in Meggen, Luzern. May be worth looking into? www.pilutje.com
