Greetings from SE Asia - not new to Zürich!

I am Silvia from South east Asia. My husband is posted here in Switzerland. This is my fourth time to Europe and second time to Switzerland. I lived in Zurich with my parents about 30 years ago.

I was so happy to be here as I have fallen in love with this beautiful country since I was a teenager.
All the best,
Silvia

Welcome Sylvia!
I too fell in love with Switzerland many years ago when we used to holiday here as a family, parents, two sisters and me. I never dreamed I would one day be lucky enough to live here.
Enjoy your time in this amazing country, and on the forum. Best wishes.

Re: Greetings from SE Asia - not new to Zürich!

Thank you so much for your warm welcome Crumbs and hannah's auntie.
I lived in Worcester Park near Surrey for 4 years and a half. My family really like England. My father and my uncle are graduates from Sandhurst Royal Military Academy. My uncle passed away in England with heart attack while he was serving as the Military Attache. I made friends with English ladies when we were there. Nice to meet you both on this forum. Best Wishes.

Wow, incredible! May I humbly ask you to give an account of the current situation in your native country? I have read a lot about the recent political reforms, but I would very much like to hear the story from a native. Thanks!

Re: Greetings from SE Asia - not new to Zürich!

Hi Sinus, sorry for my late reply. I 've been busy lately. As you know, Our country was under Military Junta for two decades(1988-2011) . Being a soldier's daughter , It is not strange I love our Myanmar Army but I never support the Military Government. Former army leaders did nothing good for the country. But now our country has got the good leader President U Thein Sein. He is also an ex army officer but he is different from the former leaders. Everybody in Myanmar knows he is an honest man. I've never heard that he took bribes. Noble prize winner Daw Aung San Su Kyi is no longer under house arrest and is now in Pyithu Hluttaw(Parliament). I believe they will lead our people to the Road to the Democracy. But they have many problems to solve like Bengali Intruders. If you are interested in our country , I will tell you more in the next post. All the best!
