Swedish family in Basel

Hello,

I am a fairly recent newcomer (to Basel) who has visited EF frequently when looking for information during the past couple of months. So I just want to introduce myself to the forum and say thanks to everybody, I rarely walk away empty-handed.

I come from Sweden and my spouse and two kids will join me shortly.
Similar to most other expats, we decided to come to CH to try something different for a while. It is refreshing to see another professional environment, culture, language, food and climate.

I notice that Sweden and Switzerland share many features. Approx the same population size, well organised with a strong middle class and, not the least, they begin with the same letters . And if we get homesick, there is always IKEA around the corner...

Again, thanks for your past and future help and I hope to be able to contribute myself to those in need.

Best, Fanny

Re: Swedish family in Basel

Hi there,

We're new in Basel as well (American family of 4). Just arrived August 1st and really like it so far. I, too, have found this forum to be so helpful!

Anyway, just wanted to say hello to a fellow "neighbor"!

Warmly,
NYCgirl

I didn't know the British meaning of Fanny before I joined the forum as it is a name quite common in French!
