Apparently its polite

I wasn't going to post an introduction but as this seems to be a civilised forum and it seems to be the done thing...

I'm 26 and from Dublin. Since finishing university I've travelled quite a lot and arrived here the friday before last. I came here to live with my girlfriend who is half swiss and grew up here (we previously lived in Spain where we met).

I have to find a job, learn french, find some people to play football with in Nyon/ Lausanne/ Geneva and learn to ski.

That'll do. Take it easy

Hans
Don't rush it
There are quite a few people either already down your way or arriving soon. The more localised genevaonline crew might also have something region-specific to help you out

Re: Apparently its polite

Thanks Mr. Rockster,

I actually got 3 interviews for jobs last week so thats looking potentially ok. The french will come in time (i learnt pretty good spanish while over there) and skiing isnt an immediate objective. The only worry is that my group of friends is for now confined to my girlfriends mates who are all quite effete (especially the lads) so the football isn't looking great.

Perhaps I'll take up a new sport like alpine cycling (or just get a bit fat).

Re: Apparently its polite

I know of some scottish lads down in Geneva who play footy - I can perhaps get contract details to you so that you can see what they know down there?

Thanks for noticing that some parts of it are civilised

Always good to have more representation from the non-german-speaking parts.
