Sort of New but Not Quite Really

Hello.

I've just arrived on this board, but I sort of know some of you already from offline (mainly from the Oliver Twist in ZH, a dodgy house in Uetikon, and a long evening of immoderate liquid consumption in Zug last weekend that ended up with me sleeping on a bench in the station...).

Still getting the hang of this online/offline thing (I don't usually mix the two), so won't name names until I know what the local etiquette is.

Until then, delighted to meet you all!

No, but I may visit one day. Is the USA nice? Would I be able to get dishwasher tablets there?

The USA is awesome. Everyone always smiles and the salespeople are very friendly. I always buy my tennis shoes in the USA. Buy 2 and get the 3rd one for free.

I hope you enjoy your time in Switzerland. The chocolate here is fantastic and there's lots of history. They're not snobby here like in England.

No need for that, the plates are actually edible. You don't need a cheese board or knife either since it comes in tubes and bottles. Its a radicle country I tell thee

Re: Sort of New but Not Quite Really

I'm moving to the USA and have some questions?
Can I hyjack this thread to ask these unrelated questions?

1. Can I buy homepride Self-raising Flour?
2. Will I need to bring my own water wings (we are moving to the South, near Louisiana and I heard they have floods)
3 .Shall I import my car from Switzerland and how can I drive there?, which is the quickest route?
4. My salary is 100000000 dollars, will that be enough for a family of 8 who love cavier?

Thanks for the help.

Planthead: Do you have a green card? Otherwise, they might not let you in. I've heard the customs authorities are pretty strict.

Dishwasher tablets were invented by the Cherokee in 1066. They were always known as one of the most, if not the most civilized tribes after all. I think the English were rather busy with other things at that moment, and the Swiss, apparently, were busy drinking.

What a lovely introduction

Etiquette on posting
Once you have posted at least 10 posts; you will be able to "Thank" people even if you have gained nothing from the post and don't forget to "Thank" your mates regularly on here as they will recipricate and it is sure to impress others.
Don't give people Red Balls as some people are very sensitive and may PM you complaining about it.
Oh and don't mention the Minorets.

Coffee Houses
I would recommend the Odean (especially the salad) though I have never been there. I understand to some it is better than sex. BUT avoid chocolate muffin in Starbucks (actually avoid the place totally).

Swiss Girls
Trust me; avoid Swiss girls. I know you are not going to believe me but they always let you down in the end and they don't give a hoot.

If you are looking for some home cooking, you might try The Pie Shop in Zurich. I haven't been but I've heard it can change your life .

Maybe. But the beer is free. Only way they can get people to drink it.
