Aussie student in Winterthur

Hello everyone!

I just moved to Switzerland last week from Perth, Australia. I'm living in Winterthur and doing a Master's degree at the University of Zurich. So far I've been pretty busy sorting out the administrative stuff and getting things for my apartment, but now that I'm settled in it would be nice to meet some people.

Re: Aussie student in Winterthur

Winterthur is a great litte city. I grew up there. Zurich on a smaller scale. Lots of good bars and restaurants and stuff. Met a friend there yesterday, had excellent but rather expensive food at the restaurant Strauss and a lot of fun playing billard (the owner presented us his award winning dogs...). Was the fun evening of the year so far for me.

Re: Aussie student in Winterthur

Since you are probably at the ETH according to you user name you are unfortunately not allowed to participate the traditional Techumzug every year in Winterthur:

I always loved that nonsense when I lived there.

Not sure really. That's what I'm here to learn

Actually biostatistics is just a fancy name for using statistics on research problems in health, medicine and biology. The idea is to let the biologists and doctors do what they do best and let a statistician make sure numbers are handled in the correct way.

Well I was never much of a footballer, but I'd certainly be up for a kick around sometime if Chrisso is keen.
