New student in Neuchatel

Hello everybody! I just arrived here from the states last week and moved into a colocation this week. I speak some French, but I'm not completely fluent and it would be nice to make some english speaking friends. I love music festivals, going out, and anything athletic. Let me know if any of you want to arrange a time to meet up

Re: New student in Neuchatel

hi and bienvenue in Neuch - we organise some EF events fairly regularly- wo watch here for events. Sadly you just missed our BBQ last Saturday.

Go to the Café des Cerfs to meet other anglo-saxons, and go on Tuesday night for informal language exchanges- there is a French communication table there. A bientot (see you soon).

Hi Sarah,

Welcome to Neuchatel. I moved here recently too and am just starting to meet people. If you want to meet for coffee or grab a drink (maybe at the Cerf), let me know.

It's right opposite the tram stop "Evole" - not far at all from Neuch town centre.

Re: New student in Neuchatel

Thanks for the replies everyone
Sapin: Haven't been up there yet, but I've been thinking about it. I will let you know if I decide to visit sometime!
Odile: I think I walked past that cafe just the other day...will definitely stop in sometime soon.
Kamarate: Sounds like something I would enjoy. I'm not exactly sure of my schedule right now, but as soon as I find out if I can make it, I will rsvp.

Re: New student in Neuchatel

Hey!
I'm new in Neuchatel too! Got here from the states in August to work as a jeune fille au pair. There are tons of live music and free dance events around town every week!
Are you taking any French classes?
We should meet up, there are tons of cute places around town!

-JJ

Re: New student in Neuchatel

Hey sarah,

Good to see already so many replies on your post. If the others are already having a coffee I would gladly tag along. Also if you want to do some jogging, swimming, or bouldering. Let me know, I am doubting myself whether I should even plan the wednesday night with dancing. As JJ told me about that.

Anyhow Welcome to Neuch and let me know if you guys go for a coffee will gladly attend!

Re: New student in Neuchatel

Sounds good Viccy. Does Friday afternoon at Cerfs work for anybody?

Jonasz: I would love to go running sometime! Never been bouldering but that sounds quite interesting.

Re: New student in Neuchatel

Regarding Cerfs:
For me friday afternoon would depend mostly on the time as I have to work during the day so early evening 19.30ish would be a lot better for me personally. Don't mind joining you guys later

With regards to running how about this Sunday?
Haven't looked at the weather but else Saturday after 17.00 could also be good (as I have to do quite some shopping etc..).

Re: New student in Neuchatel

Friday evening works for me as well.

Jonasz: What about Sunday late afternoon for running? Is around 16.00 or 17.00 too late for you?
