New to the forum and hoping to move to Switzerland soon(-ish)!

Hello all,

Someone on the social news site Reddit linked to this forum and after poking around a bit, it looks like a great place to be and to inform myself about someday moving to Switzerland.

A bit about me: I was born and raised in the United States, and I'm a dual citizen of American and Germany. I have lived in Germany for about two years of my life, and picked up the language pretty decently -- I've studied aggressively and was complimented by my Goethe Institut instructor as having some of the best German he ever encountered in a non-native.

I'm studying Management Information Systems and German at an American university, and my goal is to move to Switzerland--Zürich--when I graduate. Given that I am a native English speaker with dual citizenship studying Information Systems, it should be possible...I hope..?

Anyway, that's a bit about me. I have about a year and a half left at my university, and my target is to buying a one-way ticket for around May of 2014. In the meantime, I figure I'll just settle in here and try to learn more about one of my favorite countries in the world.

Welcome to the forum! With your German citizenship, you will be able to live and work in Switzerland. My advice would be to reach out to as many prospective employers in advance, trying to get a number of interviews scheduled before you come. Compile as much information from your academic coursework as possible (syllabi, transcripts, lists of texts, etc- go all the way back to high school, if you can) as this will help prospective employers to determine if you are a good fit for them.

Nice story. I also find Switzerland as one of the dream destination if you want a peaceful environment. I am hoping that I can go there and see the place too.
