Cheesehead living in Zurich

My name is Michael - I'm from the Chicago/Milwaukee area and will be living in Zurich at least until the end of this year. I speak German and will be on my own for a few weeks until my wife joins me. I would be very interested in attending sports events or going out to eat as a group - very casual. I look forward to meeting some people instead of eating by myself

Hi Michael and welcome!
Maybe you could try this.. I assume it's still happening...

(Unofficial) Drinks at the Viadukt Markthalle (Part Deux)

Or have a look at the 'Events' at the top of the Forum page, you'll find something there I'm sure!

Yes, it's still happening and usually very busy and a great way to meet new friends although tomorrow night there won't be too many people. The following 2 Thursdays will be much busier though. We normally drink at my bar from 7 until 9 and then head to the St Joseph pub round the corner.
