Hello - New to Zurich

Hello - I have been a member of the forum for the last few months and my husband and I have finally arrived in Zurich.

Its hard leaving friends and family behind who we are missing terribly. We are starting afresh and look forward to meeting people.

Hope to see you soon.

Tanya

Re: Hello - New to Bulach

Hello Tanya,
Nice to see another SA on the forum. We are still in SA and planning to go live is CH in 2009. My hubby is Swiss. We are going on holiday to CH in Jan. This forum has been so informative to me. I hope you settle down nicely and meet lots of friendly people. Good Luck

Re: Hello - New to Bulach

Hi Tanya,

Hope you are setteling in nicely in your new life.
So I have to ask you, how was leaving cape town??
My husband is on CH at the moment (Been there for two weeks) and is making preperations for myself and our daughter to join him ASAP (We are also from Cape Town).

What made you leave? do you have any kids? Is this move for good?
So how are you finding Switzerland so far?

Hi Tanya,
I'm also curious about anything you can share. I'm in Joburg and busy exploring some opportunities in Switzerland (Zurich). Its very nerve wracking planning to leave SA, but exciting at the same time. I'm glad to see there are quite a few SA's living over there, it'll no doubt ease the transition. Any thoughts from you on your experience in relocating would be fantastic.

Re: Hello - New to Bulach

Bulach isn't fancy or anything, but it's nice enough. It's got a nice old town and there are a couple good wineries nearby. There's a fairly large Italian community there, and so there are three or four trains that travel direct to major points in Italy.

Most of the residential areas are away from the bahnhof. The bus probably connects pretty well, but I'd check the SBB site to make sure.

Well, it might be quite in many ways, but it is close to the airport.

Re: Hello - New to Bulach

Hey Guys, Remeber me from English forum and get together in lebanese restaurant a while ago. It was lekker and I am looking forward to events like that again. I have friends from Schafhauusen which might be not fareway from Bulach. They live the countryside life e.g. horseriding and walking two Labradors. I know them from RSA and we used to have very social life. We sometimes get together but recently I have been way too busy with interclub tennis league. BTW, my girlfriend who finally arrived and I are active club memebers so almost every weekend we keep ourselves busy. We must have a braai together soon
