Hello considering to relocate from the Netherlands to Switzerland

Hello there,

I'm considering to move to the German speaking part of Switzerland. I got the idea after a recruiter contacted me for a job in Switzerland. The position was withdrawn, however i still decided to visit Switzerland for a holiday.

We really liked the country so now I'm looking for an Employee that can help me out with relocating (finding an apartment etcetera). My main skills are C#, asp.net, jQuery and Sitecore. I have about 6 years of experience in the IT branch as developer.

My English is quite advanced and fluent, however my German skills still need some work (Around A2 at the moment).

My advise is start applying for roles, quite often you will get the first interview on the phone. Getting a job in can sometime be quick sometimes very slow. Not sure why, hiring, meets budget time etc.

It is much easier to start a new life when you have a job, some structure and pay to get you going.

I have alway found it easier to get a job from outside Switzerland, I think the Swiss like to hire the best, and if they have to get you from far away they think they have search harder for the best. Just my opinion.

Also in your CV make sure you say you are expert in some fields, even if it is not something you need to be extert in for the role, they like to see it.

Re: Hello considering to relocate from the Netherlands to Switzerland

I've been to Netherland before and I love it. Although Switzerland is very beautiful but I think I can see myself living in Netherland for long-term than Switzerland.
However, everyone has their own preference
Wish you the best for your job hunting.
