Returning Home After 18 years in Asia

Hi! My name is Eric. I have lived in Asia, mostly in Taiwan for the past 18 years . I came back to pursue my studies and I am now a student of East Asian Studies at the University of Zurich. In Taiwan, I worked as an English teacher for 15 years teaching young children to adults (I have a TESOL certificate). I am fluent in German, English (without German accent) and Mandarin (My wife is Taiwanese). If you want to learn German (all levels) or Mandarin (only beginners) feel free to contact me.

Welcome home and welcome to the forum. I guess things are a little different here to what you're used to in Asia. Are you planning on getting a job as a teacher or setting up your own school?

Things are very different indeed. It took me quite a while to adjust. At the moment I am a student and I might look for a part time teaching job. I probably won't be staying for more than two years because my wife has already plans to open our own school in Asia.
