Re: Interested in contacts to a Swiss?

Hey Samira,

Am always happy to meet some Swiss people! Working in an all English environment doesn't really lend itself to meeting any locals. Are you ever in Zueri?

How far do you live from Basel? I think you will be the first Swiss I will meet besides the one who work with me.
By train it's a bit under 30 minutes.

Hi Samira, nice to see you here. It's so hard making swiss friends, especially female ones. They seem so close and on their own, they never smile and seem so sad, but why? SO I always see alone females in trams/busses/trains...

I think it's because we Swiss are (generally spoken) not as outgoing as people from other nations. I'm not the most extrovert person too, but I try my best to be more open.

People not from Zurich, Luzern, Basle or the French part?

I am Swiss and find this forum quite interesting, because I like to get in touch with new people from all around the world.

I noticed that most people here live and work in Zurich, Basle, Luzern or the French part. Are there people here who live in another part of Switzerland as well? I guess there won't be many because above mentioned cities are the centers here in CH. But I still wonder...

Re: People not from Zurich, Luzern, Basle or the French part?

I live in northern canton Schaffhausen, not by choice though. My old man and his wife live here and I stay in the house rent-free. I moved from Seattle, Washington to this little town here named Schleitheim or Schlaate as the locals call it. It's about 18km NW of the city of Schaffhausen.

It's quite different than what I'm used to, but I'm settling in nicely. Eventually I'd prefer to be somewhere closer to the heart of Switzerland so it'd be easier to get to ski resorts, though being close to Germany has it's advantages as well.

With that said, anyone else out here except for Captain Pugwash and myself?

Looking for native English-speaking people

Hi there

I'm Swiss and I adore the English language. Unfortunately, I don't need to use it in my current job and I already forgot part of it. You know how it is with languages: You need to practice them.

I would love to get in touch with some native speakers here in Switzerland.

I'm 33 years old and an open-minded person who is interested in lots of things. I love traveling, spending time with friends, books, the sun, cats, Mövenpick ice-cream, good food, red wine, music etc.

Anyone interested?

I live in the area of Olten, but I have a car.
