Just arrived in Zürich with work for 5 months...

Hi there, just moved over to Zürich from London with work for 5/6 months. I've found an apartment in Enge, am settling into work but would love to hear what's good, what's not, what clubs/activities people can recommend for meeting people and making new friends, good places to go for weekend visits etc.

Look forward to hearing from you! Thanks!

Hey,Hi EmilyR,

Have the best time in your life;and keep your heart always open...

Remember the Swiss are sort of cold;so melt their souls with your English warm heart and charm.

Bless,

I agree, it was rather a silly generalized statement. Just as the statement that all Brits have a warm heart (37 degrees Centigrade?) and are charming, I know some Brits that fit the description and some that are complete utter wankers. Sure there are cold people in Switzerland, but then again they are everywhere, also in Britain. Luckily the Swiss I've met have been very open, friendly and easygoing. So saying that the Swiss are "cold" is a truckload of B.S. in my opinion. I'm hope that EmilyR will find the same I have found.

Jep I arrived 2 month ago, so also pretty new. But it is a great country, a huge playground, and must admit as long as you are in the German speaking parts swiss are the most welcomming and warmest people I have meet for a long time.

So if you are getting bored, drop me a line and lets go on adventure.
