Hello from Zug

Hi there!

DanielL send me the link to this forum after I asked in the Aussies in Switzerland Group, where the heck all the Aussies went.
Apparently here.

Well hello everyone.
I am 31 and have arrived here 3 weeks ago. I am married with 2 kids (8 months and 23 months) and run my own business on the side together with my husband. I was born in Germany, went to uni in the UK, have lived and worked in New Zealand, Dominican Republic, the US (St. Louis MO), Australia, London and the Netherlands and am now giving Switzerland a go. My husband in Australian - hence the Aussie link. We intend to return to Sydney in a few years... anywhere between 5-10 years really and I hope this will be our last stop before our return home (I have moved.... ten times in the last ten years I think...)

I have done triathlons in the (ancient) past and would like to take that up again here in Switzerland (seeing that there are so many people cycling around Lake Zug I really ought to) and love doing Bikram Yoga (but haven't tried the one in Zurich yet - anyone go there?).

I am also very excited about the winter and going skiing / snowboarding / hurtling myself down a mountain any which way really.

What else... I love my children (naturally), I love to go out clubbing (already tried Zug ... it sucks... not a going out place at all... next stop Zurich), shopping (hey, I am a woman! and yes, I have already been to Milan since we arrived here ), talking (again, yes, I am a woman), I love running and swimming ... and am looking for some friends who I can do some of that stuff with.

Well... can't think of anything else to write... feel free to ask if I missed out something obvious!

Snowy

Oh
PS
just notice my post sounds "racist" ... my Hello was not just meant for the Aussies...

Aussies are not a race - they're a British export!

Re: Hello from Zug

hey, Snowgirl!

Welcome! another girl in Zug, I'm happy! I know Zug sucks, but if you ever want to do sth, just PM me. I live in Baar, so it's pretty near. I'm sure Ayumi can join us too
It would be ideal to go to Zurich every weekend, but unless you have a car (and I don't), it gets annoying to have to catch either the train at 12:07 or wait for the Nightbird, which takes a lot of time.
Anyways, I guess you pretty much covered the bases in your introduction, but I'd like to know if any of the cities you've lived in is especially good - "recommendable"- to live in. You know, I have this crazy idea that I'll live in many countries in the years to come...

Nice to have you here!

Re: Hello from Zug

Hi Snowy,

I'm from just up the road from you near Affoltern am Albis. Have you checked out the pool in Baar yet? It's supposed to be one of the best around; I haven't been as the only time we got organised to go it was shut for a competition. I also have 2 kids the youngest is 4 months so if you want to meet up for kids playtime & a gossip feel free to PM me.

Lou

Re: Hello from Zug

Lou and others, there's a pool in Baar named Laettich, and it is 25 meters long, unfortunately a bit crowded at nights. I think it is open till 9 pm. in any case it is better that nothing - I go there once a week, so come join!
